Warehouse Drysuit & Raft Repair Technician

The Warehouse Drysuit & Raft Repair Technician plays a critical role in supporting New Wave Adventures’ daily river operations by ensuring all drysuits and rafts are inspected, repaired, maintained, and ready for safe guest use. This position is hands-on and detail-oriented, working primarily in the warehouse and repair shop to keep essential gear in top condition and reduce equipment downtime.

We are willing to train the right person who has strong work ethic, mechanical or hands-on aptitude, and a genuine interest in learning gear repair and working in the whitewater industry. This is an excellent entry point into professional river operations and outdoor equipment maintenance.

This is a seasonal position from May 15 through September 15 with free housing included.

Key Responsibilities:

Gear Maintenance & Repair

  • Inspect drysuits, gaskets, zippers, and seals for wear, leaks, and damage.

  • Perform repairs including patching, gasket replacement, zipper care, and waterproofing.

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair inflatable rafts including patching, seam work, valve servicing, and leak testing.

  • Test repaired gear before returning it to service.

  • Maintain basic repair logs and communicate gear issues to operations staff.

Warehouse & Inventory Support

  • Keep warehouse and repair areas organized, clean, and efficient.

  • Track and restock repair materials, parts, and cleaning supplies.

  • Tag, sort, and stage gear for daily operations.

Operations Support

  • Assist with gear distribution, loading, and unloading during peak operations.

  • Clean and dry suits and equipment after daily trips.

  • Support guides and trip leaders by responding to gear needs quickly and effectively.

Safety & Quality Control

  • Ensure all repaired gear meets safety and performance standards.

  • Follow repair protocols and safety procedures at all times.

  • Report equipment failures or patterns of wear to supervisors.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Interest in learning gear repair and working in the whitewater / outdoor adventure industry.

  • Strong work ethic and reliability in a fast-paced seasonal operation.

  • Mechanical aptitude or comfort working with tools and hands-on tasks.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow repair procedures.

  • Ability to lift heavy gear, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Experience with drysuit, wetsuit, or technical garment repair.

  • Experience with inflatable boats, rafts, or marine equipment.

  • Sewing machine experience or basic mechanical repair skills.

  • Previous work in rafting, guiding, outdoor recreation, or gear shops.
