Rafting photographer employment

New Wave Adventures, a leading rafting tour company located in Denali National Park, is seeking a talented and passionate photographer to join our team as a Seasonal Rafting Photographer. This position offers the opportunity to capture stunning moments of adventure and natural beauty on the Nenana River, providing our guests with lasting memories. The role includes Adobe Lightroom editing skills to create high-quality and visually appealing images that showcase the unique experiences we offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality photographs of guests during rafting trips, highlighting scenery, rapids, and overall guest experience

  • Use strong composition, lighting, and action photography techniques to create compelling images

  • Interact with guests to ensure comfort and accommodate photo preferences during sessions

  • Maintain and organize photography equipment for reliable use throughout the season

  • Edit and retouch photos in Adobe Lightroom (color enhancement, cleanup, final delivery quality)

  • Collaborate with guides/staff to accommodate guest preferences and capture the best moments

  • Follow all company guidelines, safety protocols, and industry regulations during sessions

  • Deliver digital images to guests in a timely manner and respond to questions/concerns

  • Maintain records of guest preferences, image delivery, incidents, and equipment malfunctions

  • Provide high-quality photos to the marketing team for promotional materials, social media, and website

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with guests

  • Strong organizational skills for keeping gear organized and in working condition

  • Creative and artistic eye for capturing Denali rafting adventure moments

  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver a high volume of edited images quickly

  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and adapt to outdoor photography demands

  • Familiarity with rafting/outdoor adventure activities (A plus)

  • Proficiency in composition, lighting, and attention to detail

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (including weekends/holidays) based on demand

  • Physical fitness and endurance to climb riverbanks while carrying equipment

  • Clean driving record

Compensation:

  • Pay Rate: $18-22 per hour with free housing, OT pay (x1.5), End of season bonus.
