GETTING TO DENALI

Fortunately, there are several convenient transportation options to help you reach Denali National Park. Whether you prefer traveling by train, motorcoach, or rental car, you’ll find choices to suit a range of schedules and budgets. Keep in mind that the park is accessed through a single road entrance at mile 237 on Highway 3. Although there are no direct flights into Denali, the closest major airports are Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport- 242 miles away- and Fairbanks International Airport, which is just 119 miles from the park.

TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

One of the transportation options we highly recommend for traveling from either airport to Denali is the Alaska Railroad. Operating daily throughout the summer season, the train offers a scenic and comfortable journey that connects travelers directly to the park entrance. Alternatively, daily motorcoach services run from mid-May through mid-September, providing another convenient option for reaching Denali National Park.
