CDL Class B Bus Driver (with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements)
New Wave Adventure Drivers must be safety-conscious with a minimum of a CDL Class B Bus Driver with Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements to drive our passenger buses. As a Bus Driver, your primary responsibility will be to transport guests safely to and from our rafting tour locations within Denali National Park. This seasonal position runs from May to September, with housing options available.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate CDL Class B passenger buses equipped with air brakes to provide transportation for guests to designated locations within Denali National Park
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards and report any maintenance or repairs needed
Follow scheduled routes and maintain adherence to pick-up and drop-off times, maintaining a dependable and punctual service for guests
Provide excellent customer service to guests during transit, including answering questions, sharing information about the park, and addressing any concerns or requests
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, while operating the vehicle
Ensure the comfort and safety of passengers at all times, enforcing seating and seat belt rules and assisting with any special needs or emergencies as required
Handle any unexpected situations that may arise during transit, such as inclement weather or road closures, ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers
Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to keep them informed of any changes or issues that may affect the transportation schedule
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts
Collaborate with the operations team to coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed
Participate in driver training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety procedures, policies, and industry regulations
Qualifications:
Valid CDL Class B driver's license with airbrakes and passenger endorsements
Demonstrated safe driving record with a minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial passenger transportation
Exceptional driving skills, with the ability to navigate different terrain and weather conditions with confidence
Strong knowledge of and compliance with traffic laws, rules, and regulations
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests
Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to a fixed schedule
Ability to prioritize safety while providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for passengers
Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Knowledge of Denali National Park and its attractions is preferred
Ability to lift heavy items, such as oars or other equipment (if needed)

Communicate with Operations Manager regarding equipment damage or failure, questions about pickup drop off routes and any other problems or concerns.
Participate in equipment repair as necessary or when requested.
Educate yourself regarding the area hotels, activities so you can and inform and answer the guests questions
Maintain organized and clean facilities; i.e., buses, vans, vehicles, deck, etc. (sweet, empty trash, vacuum, wipe seats and dashboard)
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $22-$26 per hour, plus tips, FREE housing and end of season bonus
