DENALI GLACIER LANDING

Walk upon an ancient glacier tucked away deep in the Alaska Range. Your adventure begins at our private heliport. Immediately upon lift off, you will be immersed in the vastness of the Denali National Preserve. On your way to the massive Yanert Glacier, your pilot will serve as your guide through this unique glacially-carved environment. Soar over the rolling tundra, keeping an eye out for local residents – caribou, moose, bear, and Dall sheep. Snow capped peaks and glaciers abound on this journey before you set down on a river of ice. Enjoy 15-20 minutes of glacial exploration with endless photo opportunities.

QUICK FACTS 

Tour includes approximately 50 minutes of helicopter time and approximately 15-20 minutes will be spent on the Yanert Glacier, for a total time of 70 minutes.

Enjoy this short helicopter ride through the peaks and valleys that make up the Alaska Range. Just moments after taking off from our riverside heliport, you will find yourself immersed deep in the Alaska backcountry. As you explore the mountains just outside of Denali National Park, look below for local wildlife or keep your eyes on the horizon for a chance to view Denali, North America’s tallest peak, or Mt. Deborah, her impressive sister to the East. You will set down on the soft, alpine tundra giving you the opportunity to step out and into this scenic landscape. With the pilot as your guide, take this opportunity to explore the local ecosystem, scan for local wildlife, snap a flurry of keepsake photos or just sink your feet into the tundra and breathe in the mountain air. Your trip concludes with a short, yet incredible flight back to our Denali heliport.

HELI HIKING ADVENTURE

Trek through the wild Alaskan backcountry with an experienced, local naturalist at your side. On this tour, you’ll explore remote areas that are normally a full day’s hike away. Immediately after lifting off from our private riverside heliport, you will take in the breathtaking birds-eye view of the remote Alaskan wilderness. An exhilarating flight will bring you to our hiking area located just beyond the boundaries of Denali National Park. Once there, your guide will lead you on a gentle tailor-made trek above the tree line. Your naturalist guide will extend knowledge on local flora and fauna, and if you’re lucky – catch a glimpse of the wildlife in person. Relax on the hillside while enjoying a light snack. The hike will leave you with unforgettable views of rolling tundra and alpine ridgelines. This tour is limited to small groups in order to accommodate varying levels of mobility and guest desires.

Guided hike with expert introduction to the wildlife and plant life in the Denali area.

This is a gentle hike- guests must be able to walk steadily on uneven terrain for up to 3.5 hours. Please come prepared with comfortable walking shoes, warm layered clothing, rain gear, sunglasses, camera, water, and snacks in a small daypack. Tundra over-boot, and supplemental rain, wind and cold gear provided.

DENALI AIR FLIGHTSEEING

Denali Air offers two flight tours of Denali National Park in the summer season (mid-May through mid-September). All flights depart from our private airstrip, located minutes south of road entrance to Denali National Park. We are the original flightseeing company in the Denali entrance area and have been operating for over 40 years. We fly fixed-wing twin-engine aircraft with large windows at every seat and all flights are fully narrated via individual headset. We offer a high number of flights during the day and during the summer months we fly every even hour from 8am until 8pm. We offer courtesy ground transportation from all the Denali area hotels and landmarks.

DENALI ATV TOURS

Get ready for some adventure! Whether a novice or expert ATVer, this trip is a memorable experience in the Alaskan wilderness! Riding along trails surrounded by Denali National Park at speeds up to 30 mph, your adventure includes breathtaking 360 overlook stops with views of the Alaska Range, Otto Lake and the Healy Valley. Navigate through rocky creek beds and even spend time splashing through the water (weather dependent). Knowledgeable guides lead you through the rugged terrain and provide opportunities for photography. Wildlife is abundant – watch out for moose on the trail!
